Das Frankfurter Museum für Kommunikation hat in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Gießener Sonderforschungsbereich „Erinnerungskulturen“ die Ausstellung „Absolut privat!? - Vom Tagebuch zum Weblog“ erarbeitet, die seit März 2008 in Frankfurt am Main zu sehen ist. Die Ausstellung wird im Anschluss auch im Museum für Kommunikation Nürnberg und im Museum für Kommunikation Berlin zu sehen sein.
Was ist Tagwerke?
Das Ausstellungsblog „Tagwerke“ hat schon ein Jahr vor der Eröffnung in Frankfurt mit der Dokumentation der Ausstellung begonnen, zudem werden hier Links, Neuigkeiten und Bemerkenswertes zum Thema Print- und Online-Tagebuch gesammelt. Gleichzeitig fungiert dieses Blog als Ausstellungstagebuch, Zettelkasten und Dokumentationsinstrument.
Die Gestaltung und technische Umsetzung von Tagwerke wurde im Rahmen einer Kooperation von knallgrau entwickelt.
Zur Ausstellung
Ausgangspunkt unserer Überlegungen zu Tagebuch und Weblog ist die spezifische Form selbstbezogener Kommunikation als einer alltäglichen Kulturpraxis. Der Untertitel „Vom Tagebuch zum Weblog“ ist nicht chronologisch gemeint, vielmehr wird versucht, die Bandbreite des täglichen persönlichen Schreibens darzustellen.

The Museum for Communication Frankfurt has organised - in cooperation with the Collaborative Research Centre (University Giessen) "Memory Cultures" - an exhibition with the title „From the Diary to the Weblog" that opened in march 2008. Following, the exhibition will also be shown in the Museum for Communication in Nuremberg and in Berlin.
What is "Tagwerke"?
The blog “Tagwerke” (“Day works”) started in March 2007 – one year before the opening in Frankfurt – with the documentation of the exhibition. We presented articles about print- and online-diaries, news from the blogosphere and a collection of interesting links. Within the exhibition the blog “Tagwerke” is also integrated in the show-room. The design and technical realization of Tagwerke is developed by our cooperation partner knallgrau.
The exhibition
The exhibition is about private daily publishing – writing, but also pictures – within the scope of a diary. Starting point of our considerations concerning diary and weblog is the specific form of self-referring communication as an everyday cultural practice. The working title "From the Diary to the Weblog" is not meant chronologically, rather it is tried to show the range of the everyday personal writing.
